ABOUT YOUR HOSTS – RITA AND LYNDSAY BROMFIELD
Lyndsay is the fifth generation to farm on “Hazeldean”. Our farming operation includes cereal crops, beef cattle and fat lambs. We both have a keen interest in horses, Lyndsay in showjumping and Rita in dressage, but we no longer compete. Lyndsay now stands a stallion “Our Peace Officer” bred from showjumping lines and mares and foals are usually in the paddocks close to the house and carriages.
We have recently become carriage driving enthusiasts and have a pony and sulky. Together with our youngest son we also have two Clydesdale mares broken to harness and are in the process of restoring a number of wagons.
Our eldest son works in the horse industry in Wagga Wagga and our youngest son works for a local agri-business company.
Since opening Country Carriage Bed & Breakfast in 2006 we are committed to showcasing our local and regional area and its produce and your Welcome Bag contains a visitor information booklet, shire tourist attraction brochures and map. We are happy to advise on local and regional tourism attractions and events.
We offer country hospitality, guided tours of our farm and the pioneers cottage housing a collection of memorabilia from the late 1800s to the early 1900s together with a collection of horse-drawn farm machinery and wagons.
We provide extras including plunger coffee, a selection of Twinings teas, fresh fruit, soft towelling bathrobes, a selection of CDs and DVDs, glossy magazines and board games.
There are spectacular sunsets, starwatching, winter campfires, bushwalking, birdwatching, yabbying or bring your own bicycles and cycle around the property or the quiet country roads.
